Is this MOS still understrength for SSG's? Also, could someone tell me about training avalability? I tried to reclass to 21T,88N,and 63B. They all were denied. Reasons were because of trainability and they said that my current MOS is balanced(which is 42R-Army Musician).. Which is confusing because I thought that you could reclass from a balanced MOS.. Maybe the fact that all three mos's that I listed were balanced as well.. Hopefully 14J is undermanned and I will have a better shot... Thanks for any replies...
As of 3 Oct 2009, total authorized/fill strength for 14J SSG is 399/399. One of the few actually exactly 100% MOS. Granted, this is just a snapshot of what is there right now, not projected gains/losses.

wow, thanks 51C... I guess thats a NO-GO... I was trying to get 51C but my unit is BS'N with getting me a recommendation from my LTC down at Batallion.. I also heard that 51C is getting filled quickly... Anyway, thanks for the info...
51C where can I access that info where you received the #'s? If it is semi-restricted then how is 35L, 35G, 51C, 68V, and 15U looking as a E-5? Thanks in advance.

I believe from some briefings I've had that it will never be closed to application due to being such a small density MOS, that a few people leave all the time and it makes a big impact. I'd suggest getting with your BN CDR secretary and make an appointment for a letter of recommendation. Have a template already typed up and bring it to him for approval. Of course, let your CoC know, but oftentimes they will want to personally talk to you.
