so is this true, my retention nco said i have to wait around june timeframe this year for me to be able to reenlist to reclass because hrc or whoever wont give us any slots cuz my unit is on a 15 month deployment and cant forsee school seats that far?

some other info:
my unit deployed jan of this year, we will probably end up doing only 12 months.

my ets date is jun08 but has "been adjusted" for stoploss

im an initial entry soldier with 6 yrs active service this june, im currently spc(p)

one question, would it be smart to.

a. reenlist for reclass this june and get a seat, so when i return to the states i can be on my way to school faster.
b. renelist for reclass right before my deployment is up so i can see and dont reclass into a slow promotion mos.

Since this is your career, you may want to get what you want as soon as it's available; if you wait, it may be gone when you want it again.

What MOS were you looking at?

im looking into the following mos's, theyre listed in my order of preference

25m
25v
46q/r
35m

25m - Balanced throughout MOS
25v - Understrength through SPC (Since your are (P), not likely to get this MOS)
46q/r - Understrength through SGT (No class seats loaded for retention after FY08. (This is your best bet once class seats are loaded)
35m - Must be a SGT(P) or SSG

I will probably be E-5 when i reenlist, does my choices remain the same or do they change?

Your reenlistment options will remain the same, but you may be offered less assignments or less MOSs based on strengths. There are just less assignments for SGTs that SPC and below.
