I was an Army reservist for 6 years before coming active duty, when I enlisted (active) I was given the MOS 89B, I want to reclass out of it, as I do not like it. My MOS is balanced out now. How do I find out what are my options? And am I a first termer? I have like 3 1/2 years active duty total. I really could care less about a bonus I just want to get a new MOS.

IF you have 180 days or more of Actice Duty time while in Reserves you typically will be considered a mid career Soldier. You can put in a voluntary reclass packet for an understrength MOS, if you meet the requirements for that MOS. Approval could be contingent upon they have school seats available, and best person to talk to is your trusty Career Counselor.

When is your ETS?

If you have 180 days prior active service, you will be a mid-career Soldier and will not be offered Option 3, Army Training Reenlistment Option.

You'll need to submit a voluntary reclassification through your Career Counselor ... you can pick from the Priority MOS List.
