I'm sure no one is the expert on 31D reclasses here but I was hoping for a lil bit of guidance.

I want to reclass to 31D and i had previously been told that I met the requirements except for the college. Does anyone know, is it possible to complete schooling while within the 31D mos? or do you have to have it finished before being accepted. Also, my re-enlistment window doesnt open for almost 2 years, is it still possible for me to be accepted and go to school for the mos (and just be extending after completing school? Any help or input is appreciated.

Ive been thinking about going 31D myself. Ive spoken with different people and basically yes you can do college but its up to you and how motivated you are to get a degree. Hope that helps.

CID requires a 5-year service remaining requirement PRIOR to attending the course. You'll need to reenlist (probably for 6 years) prior to reporting to school.

so then if I am outside of my window how would I extend? Would I have to wait till my window opens or would I just be able to extend to meet service requirements?

After you've been selected for 31D and your branch releases you, you'll get a school date. Within 30 days of school date notification, you'll reenlist for the fulfill the service remainig requirement.

You can't reenlist for 31D, but you'll reenlist to meet the service remaining requirement.
