i am in the process to reenlist under the bear program but there is not schools dates (92Y)
for 09. is there any way i can check when schools seats are open. ATTRS is currently showing classes open for 09 but nobody seems to know.
i am currently deployed in IRAQ and sometimes frustrate when you need to wait for 5 different persons to pass a message.

I am actually going through the same ordeal except with the 46Q MOS. No class dates in 08/09. Seems like the only thing that can be done is to wait to see if seats open up (atleast that is what I have been told). Getting in touch with the 92Y Branch Manager may help. Always worth a shot. Best of luck getting a class date. I feel your pain with waiting for a message to move along the chain.

Just because ATRRS indicates classes in FY 09 does not mean they will be conducted, it simply means that they have been loaded into the ATRRS system, if needed. Strengths and other factors determine whether or not a certain class will be conducted or cancelled.
Also, just because there are seats available, does not mean that they are out there for retention purposes. HRC Training division bakes a great big pie full of all Army training and then cuts it into pieces. USAREC gets a great big slice, MMRB and other types of Reclass Actions gets a big piece, and Retention gets a slice as well (not always a very big piece, though!).
When training for a specific MOS is made available to retention, it is provided to Career Counselors via the RETAIN system. Check with your servicing Career Counselor periodically to find out if 92Y seats have been made available for BEAR or Army Training reenlistment option. I know this info may not help your situation, but hopefully it addresses to you how this works.
