The Inspector General School is a resident educational institution that focuses on teaching Army Inspectors General to execute the U.S. Army Inspector General system and its functions as a member of a Division Inspector General office. This focus supports the Army Chief of Staff’s focus by emphasizing support to the Soldier, adapting the IG system to the Joint and Expeditionary mindset, incorporating both active and reserve components into the IG system, reevaluating the IG system for future force relevance, and developing IG doctrine that supports the employment of installations as flagships. The school’s focus further supports the Department of Defense’s broader focus on successfully pursuing the Global War on Terror (GWOT), strengthening combined and Joint warfighting, and enhancing warfighting capabilities.
