Does anyone know how hard it is get slots for this course? I'm an 88N, but trying to get my next assignment in SOCOM. Is it worth a reenlistment option? If I got an assignment to another unit, and then reenlisted for it, would that change my assignment?

To attend one of these courses, contact your Schools NCO with the Course Name and School Code 959 and date of the course you wish to attend.

If you reenlist for this, you'll be GUARANTEED a school seat. This is the only way you'll guarenteed this training.

Just a heads up.. AMWS in VT is a 2 phase school. Summer phase and winter phase. In order to get the SQI of "E", military mountainer, you must pass both phases

Yes the courses can be taken in any order... just a heds up, the course is run by 3/172 mountain IN, a pretty high speed NG Unit. This Batt is currently the only unit in the entire US Army (RA/NG/Reserve) thats MTOE is for Mountain warfare/ops... course is given at Ft jericho, at the ethan allen firing range.. nice in summer, brutal in winter. I know, I was a part of this batt before I jumped on to regular army
