I heard that under new TRADOC regs all TRADOC units have changed to the 6 day work week system. Regarding this my questions are: 1) does this apply to soldiers that are prior service or just to IET soldiers?

I am currently a 35P(KP) and I have signed a BEAR contract to go to Fort Huachukah (sp) and am debating bringing my familt there with me. They will be living in Tucson at the time if I can guarantee weekends off to go see them. If not I'm planning on just renting a place off post until the completion of my training.

On a side note I'm rying to get BNOC worked into my orders so I can finish AIT and knock out BNOC at the same time. 1) What are the steps I need to go through in order to get this done and 2) If I do this would the training be long enough to qualify for a PCS?

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Haven't heard the 6-day week (I'm with FORSCOM through), but if AIT is 6-day weeks, this would include everyone because it's probably a learning 6th day, not just replacing urinal cakes.

As for the BNCOC, not sure what the available class seats are, but this may be a possibility. You've got to get with the 35F branch manager for a more definitive answer.

Since 35F AIT is just over 16 weeks and BNCOC is 7 weeks, if you get these together, this qualified you for a PCS (over 20 weeks).

Thanks for the info. My 1SG is helping me out right now set up BNOC. And I looked around at other posts and the 6th day is used for WTT type training. Boy oh boy I can't wait.

Well, I'm glad you received what you asked for and I hope you can get BNCOC in your orders.

as a follow up I didn't end up getting BNOC. I did however get my assignment I wanted so it's not all bad.

Hi, I am planning to reenlist in sept 09 for 35F. When the career counselor said you would be qualified for a PCS (20weeks)does that mean you get to pick your duty station prior to graduation of AIT? Also about the BAH, is the BAH going to be from where the AIT is at or the last duty station? Thanx.

Really they said you qualify for a PCS to the school? If you PCS to the school which seems unlikely as I think the course is only 16 weeks, then you should get BAH for Arizona not for your previous assignment. Because 20 weeks is so short, it is possible to just not submit the change of BAH and get 20 weeks of your previous duty station’s BAH. I do not recommend this however because #1 it's illegal and #2 the Army will catch up eventually and take it all back. Hope that answers your question. Good luck.
