I recently failed an APFT (situps), and was flagged for it, which is keeping me from getting promoted and re-enlisting in July. I keep hearing from multiple sources that A) you can't be flagged for APFT failure while deployed and B) You do not have to take a record APFT while deployed. Unfortunately the computers where I am don't let me view PDF files, which most of the regs are saved as, so I'm having trouble finding which reg says all of this. I would really appreciate it if someone could provide some insight on this. Also, I was injured early in AIT and have been struggling ever since. I have chronic back and hip problems, so needless to say doing situps is one of the most painful things I can do. I am on a P2 profile for my injury, and was once excused from doing situps on the apft, but the doc at ft. stewart changed that without even examining me, but I guess i have to deal with that. I just want some advice and some regs on this whole situation. If it turns out i can be flagged, then i will have to suck it up and try to pass before july, but if I have been wrongfully flagged then I would really like to know!
