Hello,

I'm currently deployed and will be heading back somewhere around the beginning of 2009, and I am hoping that after three months of being back home at Fort Hood, I can PCS to Germany. However, there are a few things that may or may not be standing in my way, and any help you can give with them would be much appreciated. Thanks!

1. I reenlisted a little over a year ago, and I opted for Current Station Stabilization for one year at Fort Hood. Does this stop due to deployment, or will is the one year over with? And if it takes effect once I get back to Hood, is there any way I can cancel the Stabilization?

2. I called up my branch, and was told that although they could certainly use me in Germany, they couldn't do anything at all until atleast 3 months after I get back to Hood. I am fine with PCSing around that time, but I want to make sure that my PCS orders are cut before then, so that I can have a peace of mind that I AM going to Germany.

Also, my squad leader is telling me that I can work up a 4187 that can be submitted to get me orders beforehand. Does anyone know the way to go about this? Our company is a modular unit, so our S-1 is through some battalion across theatre, and they are not helpful, so I was told that if I wanted to do that, then I need to do all of the work and walk it through myself, so any help is REALLY appreciated.

Thank you!

EDIT: I am currently on my first reenlistment, and arrived at Hood in April of 2006.

Xeremeh,
With the stabalization, you can waive that when you redeploy. It was your option to get it in the first place, but if you reenlist again, that option will be used and you cannot use it again.
As far as actually getting to Germany, call your branch manager again and ask him to cut project you to Germany with a report date of 3 months after you get back. You will definitely need to wait until right before you get back, or until right after you get back because the fence is probably still on your UIC and they cant touch you until that fence gets lifted. Usual time for a fence to be lifted is approximately 1-4 months before redeployment. You can check on the ASK webpage to find out if your unit is still fenced... Or just ask the SMAJ or Commander.

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

AIRBORNE ALL THE WAY
