My husband is a 35N and he just got orders to be to Ft. Gordon by July 27th. As an Army Wife, I'm concerned about how soon he may deploy after we get there. So if anyone is stationed at Ft. Gordon, or knows 1: How often the units are rotated and deployed, 2: When the last time was that a unit deployed overseas, or 3: When/How soon are troops set to come home (are any of their tours over soon). Also, if you know when the next unit is deploying, that would really help.
My husband is coming from Goodfellow AFB, if anyone can relate to that... also I'm just wondering how Ft. Gordon is. I understand it's near Augusta, GA, and I'm quite familiar with GA. I've been to Ft. Stewart many many times, and have traveled throughout GA quite a bit. I'm very glad to hear that we're not in the middle of no where like it is at Goodfellow. Unless I'm mistaken! But anyway, I'm just trying to find some info on Ft. Gordon before we get there. Please email me if you can @ thesuttons53787@yahoo.com
Thanks to all who respond. I really appreciate it. And good luck to you all!!!

I'm also a 35N, stationed at ft stewart. it all really depends on what unit at ft gordon your husband is going to. I have friends there who deployed to afghanistan this year, but then i have other friends at gordon who may never deploy because they are in strategic units. if your husband is going to a strategic unit, chances are he wont deploy anytime soon.

There is an entire strategic Brigade of MI Soldiers there... Now most MI units that are designated as strategic are more "stractical" now than anything else your above statement is clearly wrong at least from the standpoint of the 35N... it may hold true for the Signal world though.

Actually the 93d Signal Brigade is on Fort Gordon and that whole unit is rapidly deployable. The majority of the companies within the 63d Signal Battlion are either in Kuwait or Iraq most of the time. I remember going through BNCOC with a whole lot of NCOs from the 63d and after they graduated phase 1 they left with the unit to Iraq the next day.
NCOs lead the way!!!

Yes, I was talking about the Signal side. I thought the original poster was speaking about 25N.

93rd SIG BDE was disbanded last year. It's now 35th SIG BDE which deactivated at Bragg and reactivated at Gordon after dropping their Airborne status. The two SIG battalions in 35th on Gordon are ESBs, Expeditionary Signal Battalions, which provide communications for Corps and echelons above Corps.
