I reenlisted last year for occupational therapy, an asi to 68w. My deros was 09AUG09 but I'm extending b/c the class doesn't begin until April2010. My unit is suppose to deploy in december. At first they were going to leave me on rear d so I can attend the school but now theyre talking about me deploying. If I deploy I won't have enough time left to attend the school. Can someone tell me my options or what may happen. I'm not trying to extend or reenlist again for a school I already reeenlisted for.

First, how long is the training?
IF it's more than 20wks it's a PCS. Otherwise it's TDY, and might be enroute.

You could end up deploying then go back "Garrison" (wherever you are now,) long enough to pack for school.

There are other possibilities- it just depends on how desperately the unit thinks they need you. Talk out your options with your squad leader and/or plt sgt, to get an idea of what the unit is planning.

I talked to IG and they said that with the new sl/sm coming out after 1 JAN they have to send me back 90 days prior to the school date. The school is 9 months
