My wife told me yesterday that a co-worker told her that her friend husband who is due to redeploy back in 2 more months, been told that he is not going home that they sending him to afghanistan instead, Now my question is can they really do such a thing to a soldier after being deployed for 15 months? wouldn't that be an extreme family hardship? Has anyone heard of such situations? doesn't the army suppose to give him at least 12 months dwell time?
I know that while the Army tries to give 12 month dwell time, its for the unit, not for the soldier so if you deploy from fort hood for 15 months when your unit comes back it has 12 months dwell time but if you deploy to another post and they are about to deploy 6 months later, they could deploy you then. I never heard of deploying and instead of coming home just being sent to another deployment, maybe he volunteered and told her he was ordered to go from one deployment to another??????
