Okay I'm pretty sure someone will have something to say for this but that's okay just giving my opinion. Look I'm stationed at Ft hood, haven't been there for a little bit cause I'm deployed but still, if you don't like seeing soldiers in there uniform off post then do not go to the cities that lie right outside the gate. Who do you think are the majority in these cities. The soldiers. Killeen and copperas cove right outside of Ft Hood might as well be Ft Hood because of the fact of all the soldiers, and retired soldiers that live there. So yeah you are going to see soldiers in uniform. Me personally I run home and get out of uniform cause I don't like to run around in uniform. Not saying I don't take wearing the uniform in pride. I do and I luv wearing it just not off duty time, but I will not harass or even take a second look at anyone wearing there uniform off post unless they are being dumba$$. But if I were to see a soldier in uniform way out of the confines of the local area then I'll be asking questions cause they are no longer in an area with a high amount of soldiers. I know this is the same for other posts cause it was the same for Ft Riley there you had Junction City and Manhattan. So that's just my opinion.

As a POC I'm there to help the wives that need it and I'll even go out of my way to lend a shoulder to cry on, if there's a reason to cry.
What I hate is when a spouse, living at home with her parents, no children, no bills, calls me at some odd hour of the day while I'm trying to take care of my two toddlers telling me she can't take it anymore, and her husband left not a month prior to. She can't take the stress.... Now that's not the worst though, the worst is when you offer all of the coping ideas you can think of and she says "No, I don't want to do that..." Don't call asking for help if you don't want help....
Soldiers who don't call/email their moms during deployemnt. My own husband gets on my nerves with this. I get a call a day from some moms of the single soldiers fresh out of AIT who haven't heard from their son but twice in the near year that this unit has been gone. Fellas, I understand ya'll are busy, but I beg of you, call/email your mom and say "Hey mom, I love and miss you, I've been busy but all is well, talk to you soon though..." Then about once every month send it to her again....
That's just me though... we all can dream can't we?

A new, incoming Leader who immediately decides to implement new policies to correct everything he/she sees wrong, with the attitude that we were jacked up until he/she got there. In reality, they may fix something that does need fixing. However, when they rush in with that attitude, their weaknesses always seem to "break" something that was a strength prior to their arrival. The result isn't really an overall improvement, just a lot of frustration for the people that have been part of the team for a while.

People who wait at the front gate of a FOB to see if soldiers coming off of a mission are wearing white sox.
Being told that you can't eat in the chow hall because your uniform is dirty. When you just came off of a mission and thought you'd stop in at the nearest DFAC for a bite. (This same person has been sitting in that A/C chow hall all day by the way.)
Being told that the boone hat (hat, sun, desert) is unauthorized for wear in the very environment that it was created for.
Wearing a helmet in a tactical vehicle when not in a tactical environment, especially where the speed limit is between 10 and 25 MPH.
Wearing a reflective vest/belt where the speed... well see above.
Any policy that contradicts good common sense or doing that way b/c "thats how we've always don it".
1. People that complain about a soldier getting smoked. It's more effective than a 4856 on the first offence.
2. People that bitch constantly about having to deploy. Its a big sh!@ sandwich and everyone has to take a bit, suck it up.
3. Privates that say they can make more money in the civialian world. B.S. or you wouldn't have join the military in the first place. For the most part, if it wasn't for Army all they'd be qualified to do is flip burgers for minium wage.
4. Enlist bonuses disappearing just as before my re-up window opens.
5. Some peoples lack of common sense in the Army.
6. Grossly overweight soldiers being allowed to leave AIT and jion a unit.
Oh, I have a few pet peeves. 1. Soldiers who "suck up" to thier superiors for better words and get preferential treatment because of that. I've seen guys get 1,1 on their NCOERs and that whole year, they spent sitting down on the computer in the shop playing video games. 2. NCOs who think they know everything and can never be proven wrong. Micromanagers as well. 3. All of this online training that we have to do, that ultimately teaches us nothing. 4. Dog and parade shows. I'm fine with change of commands and responsibilities, but all of these regimental reviews and such are pointless and a waste of time. 5. Since it is election season, one huge pet peeve that I have are superiors who try to force thier political beliefs on their suboordianates, or who pressure their soldiers into voting for a certain candidate, because that candidate supports the military, or he is one of us. Let soldiers decide on their own, do their own research, and form their own opinions. 6. On that note, people who assume because one is in the military, that you are republican. I cannot still figure that one out, but anyway. 7. Finally, my biggest pet peeve of all are soldiers who CRY ABOUT RECOGNITION. I understand everyone loves a pat on the back, but some soldiers want a reward for going to the bathroom on their own. It really drives me crazy, especially when we come up with the combat action badge, or people cry because soldiers recieved more campaign medals in desert storm. Get over it. If you know you did it in your heart, that should be all that matters!
How about the power tripin retired 1SG or SFC that works at every CIF in the Army and always tells you to go scrub your stuff with some simple green before you turn it in.

While the ACU may be authorized off post, and the mall is not listed above, it still looks bad and is not in line with the intent of the uniform or the regulation.
Actually the intent of the Army is to have living, breathing, walking Army posters walking around...a Soldier is an Army billboard, you know advertising the Army.

1) Fresh out of AIT soldiers who think they know everything about everything.
2) That 5 year SPC that jumps the chain of command because he thinks he's entitled (ya, that ended poorly)
3) The fact that it is harder to NOT get promoted then to just be sent to the board for SGT and SSG (at least here in Korea). I tried to recommend one of the guys in my squad for non-promotion based on lack of experience. The guy was in AIT for two years (35P AIT is about 2 years long) and had only been at the unit for 4 months at this time and they wanted to send him to the board. I had hardly enough time to train him at his job let alone train him to be an NCO. He ended up going to the board 3 months later but I had to meet with everyone from the BN CDR on down to justify my position. That really burned my biscuits!
4) Rock bottom points for most intell MOSs. All most of these soldiers have to do is breathe and pass a PT test and they make SGT in 18 months here.
