grats on that 300, its ashamed my leadership would treat you less than human for that.
also can you really even "take up space" in the ARMY? its not like another soldier is missing out on anything just because somebody is in the army.
Well I fully hope you take full advantage of ACS and the programs they offer ETSing soldiers. I have two friends who just got out, one made sure they went to all the briefings and classes on transition and is doing quite well himself, the other, was in a hurry to get out because he was tired of it. Now he's back home trying to find something to do to get by. I know they are two seperate people and have seperate backgrounds but it makes a huge difference.
Good luck with it either way.
And just to clarify, I didn't mean it disrespectfully, it really just seemed like the obvious question considering your previous posts.....

Yes you can, and they could be missing out on something, a leadership position, a coveted duty station. Wasn't it you that said "quality not quantity?"

I dont know, maybe it was me. HOWEVER the ARMY is certainly not using "quality not quantity" at the moment

I call BS on that one. Unless you are a PVT(E1), living in the barracks, with meal card...even then if you add up the real numbers you are making more money.
Not if shes a manager.....

I know that we just had a baby and I didnt have to pay the $15,000 bill for it, that civilian in transportation, warehouse, field and overseas DO!!!
I know your sister making more than you would have to pay those $15,000, I didnt. Plain and simple...I hope your ETS is soon so you can open up a slot for a good Soldier to take and do great things for the Army b/c I know you are just wasting space.
Just complete ignorance all over this post from you. There is such a thing as healthcare. Companies have plans that help you pay little for that healthcare. $15,000....honestly, you dont pay it so how do you know?

My friends that have degrees in nursing, computer science, and mechanical engineering are making crazy amounts of money. Others I went to school with are not making as much as me(I know a lot of teachers), especially when my benefits are factored into the equation. As far as the civilian in Iraq making more, that's 100% true. That's why I may work for KBR if I ETS
So there arent many jobs out there that are equivalent to $45,000 a year?

Not to sound cocky, but I am intelligent. I, however, don't have a high school diploma because I had to drop out to egt a job (my parents kicked me out). The ARMY is giving me (if you calculate a 9-5 position) about $20/ hr. Now I know we do more than a 9-5 often, but for the majority of us who were unqualified to make more than minimum before we joined... this is a pretty sweet gig. And if you just do simple things like... I dunno... listen and do what you are told... and show you've got a pair... It's not hard to get where you want to go in this "culture". Now, where else could I make this kind of money, get free health care, have a for sure job, and extremely high potential for growth with the lack of credentials that I have? And the fact that( i don't know if this matters to anyone else) my parents are actually proud of me? Well I think the ARMY is a winner for me! And when I do ETS (because I don't want the same life for the whole of my enjoyable years) the only thing that will have made me marketable is... the ARMY. So, seriously, I just don't get how people can complain about the earnings. Now if you HAD a college degree, and you HAD potential to make better money before you joined... well then why did you join? I probably still would have. Im not the kind of guy who is all super hooah and the patriot of the year, but it does give me self satisfaction that, even if Im not doing it right now, I attempted to do my part for everyone else. WHOA sorry for the rant. And please don't feel like I was trying to put anyone down here!

All the folks getting to come home early while my husband goes for a full 15. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for them, I have a few friends whose husband's left after mine and are coming home before him or a week after, but it still sucks. The whole watching mine go first and come back last blows a big fat hole in my ozone layer....
People who lie about awards they haven't earned, i.e. ranger tab and all that hooah. You can be a super soldier without a tab and such. I mean, is it really that serious?

A job that allows you to live the kind of lifestyle that $45,000 a year will allow in Tennessee...
No, not for most people who are about to ETS after serving three or four years with a high school education, or just a few semesters of college. There are exceptions to the rule, like those who work for KBR, the Patroit guys who become high paid contractors, linguists, those with a top-secret clearance, etc. But we all know that they aren't the majority.
