PATRIOT, Combat Proven! ADAM Cell is the future of ADA, good thing I caught a class and certificate on that one. Can anyone say Northrop Grumman? LoL A little advice to any ADA guys out there. GET A ADAM CELL TRAINING CLASS. Also hit up a Unix Language class. Oh here's my chance to add to this "Things that burn my biscuit" thing.

People who say UNIX is junk! Guess what, you more than likely use it on a DAILY basis!

People pay big bucks for this skill.

Honestly, even if you're in love with the ARMY why not just ETS and use the new GI bill, then come back in and make GOOD pay? or use green to gold program.

I was just thinking about that today, you want to stay in ARMY because you think its better than civilian pay? Well that's fine, but WHY in the world would you stay enlisted? Officer is like the "better life" of the ARMY why not try to at least push for it? not only do you make triple or more than most enlisted soldiers make, you also get the nice little perks that come with being an officer.

Gotta remember there are a LOT of down sides to being an officer as well. Not all people like sitting at a desk and going to meetings constantly.

I actually agree with you, somewhat. There are a few ways that you can guarantee your job as an officer, such as entering one of the medical programs like PA school, or going SF. That being said, the reason why I haven't gone to OCS yet, and hesitate every time I consider putting in a packet is because your branch isn't guaranteed. You may love the signal corps or the military police, but may end up being branched infantry or transportation. Personally, I think warrant officer is the way to go if you value job satisfaction over the amount of money you make.

Hell, warrant officer is a great decidion even if you are going for the big bucks, that pay scale is tempting. My husband stays enlisted (for now) because it's what he likes doing. He likes going outside the wire with his guys and making sure they are taken care of in a medical sense should the worst happen. As a medic he doesn't shy away from any duties and enjoys teaching new soldiers innovative and lifesaving skills that will not only help them in the Army but throughout their lives.

While most of this back and forth has been about the money, for some soldiers that's not the end all. You spoke about job satisfaction and in his MOS for him he definitely has it.

Administrative notes:
1. Use quotes with more discretion. Quote only the portions of the post that pertain to your comments. When you quote a 5 page post only to add 2 sentences of your own, it makes for difficult reading.

2. Discontinue the flaming. Any more personal attacks will result in a thread lock and liberal issuance of karma reductions.

Please keep our forums civil and usable.

Honestly from what mpsoldier75 said, it sounds like he thinks he is flier than birds, but in reality he's chilling on the ground like a polar bear turd.

And that's the kind of person you are? Take a shot at me for having an opinion. That's fine, cause I've seen many guys like you come and go in the Army, with that "I'm too smart and too good to be a soldier" get out and have to work a crappy job and come back in the Army with a whole different attitude. And as far as your GT score, buddy, I'll compare GT scores with anyone anytime. That doesn't make me or you any smarter or better than anyone else. The fact that I'm a lifer and your not doesn't make you better than me or me better than you. But the fact you took a shoot a my intelligence, because I have a different opinion than you, speaks volumes about your character, or lack there of. Plus it's easy to be brave on a broad like this, I bet you wouldn't say stuff like that in front of the person. Trust me I work in the civilian world for awhile before I joined the Army and made great money by any standard, but I still make more in the Army with BAH, BAS, and COLA, than I did then and I don't have to pay for mine or my families medical insurance. When it came time to reenlist my wife and I sat down and figured I would have had to make at least $60,000 a year to offset the pay and benefits in the Army and I was just an CPL at the time.

So realnonfictiondiction I hope you do what ever make you happy and successful, but don't take a shoot at me or anyone else for having an opionin different than yours. I've lost too many buddies that fight and died for mine and your right to have and an opinoin, and I wouldn't let your or anyone else piss on there memory by insulting someone for having a different opinion than yours.

And that's what burns my biscuits!
