Well folks, horrible day today. I went and took the asvab (2nd time)...got a 29 on it, which all I really wanted was a 31 (all I needed)..so now I get one more retake on nov 21 and its my last one before I have to wait a year to retake..i'm kinda really upset about it.


I've used march2success to study, now I just dont know what else to do. I studied for a good month or two, and just dont know..

very upset right now..

any suggestions on where to study?
and valuable ones?

I am not suggesting that you quit studying, but at least the nexty time you take it you will have a much better understanding of what type of questions are on the ASVAB.

Focus on the stuff that you think you messed up on. Maybe go get one of those books from the library or the bookstore on preparing for the ASVAB. I am talking about the big ones kind of like the SAT prep books. They usually help explain the answers better and how they got the answer. This way you have something tangible that you can reference as you practice.

If you have some questions about some type so of questions from the ASVAB, post them on this board and maybe some people can try to explain them to you a little easier.

well there was a quesiton like


if 10 pieces of paper were put into a hat, with the numbers 1-10 on them, what would be the chance you would pull out a 2

and i was thinking 2/10 but there wasnt an answer 2/10 so i dont know

Well, if 10 pieces of paper were numbered 1-10, then you would have

and there would only be one piece of paper with a "2" on it, so the chances would be 1 out of 10.

You may want to get a tutor. I do that with anything I'm studying and it helps tremendously. Go for a 50!

John R... have you taken the FAST classes offered through the education center?? I don't know what your status is as far as if you are active duty or what? You might want to include that in your post

I remember before I took the test, I did absolutely NO studying whatsoever. A year had already gone by since I had been in school... but anyways...

The first question was a practice question. It said "2 + 2 = "
I thought to my self, "Oh sh!t, this is gonna be easy as hell!"

I went on to the actually test, and the first question was like:

On average, a person uses 130 gallons of water per day. 40% is used when doing laundry, 30% is used when showering, 20% is used when washing dishes, and the other 10% is used during misc. activities.

In a population of 100,000, how many more millions of gallons of water are used when doing laundry, than used during miscellaneous activities in 1 week?


I started laughing to myself because i couldnt think at all! I had a sheet of paper and a pencil, but didnt know where to start. I actually looked around because I thought MAYBE i'm getting "Punk'd".. lol.

Just thought I'd share that.

I took it the first time in 93 and got a pretty good score. I took again 10 years later and score 10 points higher. I couldn't believe it because i walked in, sat down behind a computer and flew right through it. I figured i did real bad but I guess it was luck lol.

xsinsshinex- how did you score a 103 on the asvab last I checked the highest was a 98 barring line scores. Also I scored a 72.

The highest you can get is a 99.

27.3 million gallons
Good logic and percentage calculation question. I like it.
