If you are in ok shape, you're already starting better than me ... I was in no shape whatsoever. Trust me, you will get all the exercise you need in Basic
But .... if you want to get a head start, then each day, do some pushups, some situps, and run a bit. Start out slow if your not used to it, maybe do 10 pushups here, 10 situps there, run around the block a few times. Then as it gets easier, (it will, trust me), then start doing more.

Don't listen to anything Bradmeister says... he's still not in shape! Honestly though, I run a schedule, and a test every week, like this: Mon - Chest/Arms/Upper Abs Tue - Shoulders/Back/Legs Wed - Abs, Abs, Abs!!! Thu - Back/Chest/Arms Fri - Recover Sat - PT Test (Push-ups, Sit-ups, 2 (or sometimes 3) mile run in under 15 (or 20) Sun - Recover
It works, but it hurts! As long as you have a goal, and a desire, you can take anything on.

[quote:d4c38243c4="trumpetist1"] [quote:d4c38243c4="TexAg04"]machines or free weights?[/quote:d4c38243c4] Usually machines, because they're easier for me to get to. I prefer free-weights though.
