Does everyone shower together at army basic or are there individual showers? I am just curious because I have been told different things from different people.[/b]

It really depends on where your going for basic. Most likely you'll all shower together. But you'll be so tired by then that you won't care one way or the other.

When I went through BCT, there were community showers with stalls stalls that were separated by concret blocks. So it was semi private, but still communial. And its true, you are gonna be so tired by the end of the day, you wont care if your alone, or showering next to 10 guys. All you will wanna do is get cleaned up and hit the sack.

Regardless of what you find in basic, sooner or later you'll experience open bay showers so you might as well get used to the idea.

You didn't take a shower for three weeks? I find that hard to believe.

3 weeks.....I don't think so. That would be trainee abuse and none of them would be Drill's any longer. Not to mention all of the CoC would have been FIRED...all the way up to BN CMD. Maybe even BDE CMD. The only time you will not shower is when you go to the field, and then you can use babywipes to clean up. Try not to bend the truth that much. Remember we have alot of new recruits, not to mention all the possible recruits that read this board. I know if I was just thinking about joining and read something that said that I could not shower for 3 weeks, I would not have joined.

I went to FT Jackson for Basic and I had showered with all girls there was 6 shower heads to a bathroom, but I have also been in showers at reception that was just a big room of showers and everyone jumps in and takes a shower. You get use to it after a while. Besides you only have to put up with it for 9 weeks. Its not really so bad though.

In my BCT it was called the car wash, not a shower. We all lined up and proceed to half shuffle through the showers in one big line. Definitely the fastest shower I ever took, less than a minute. That was only at the beginning though, after a week or so we could do showers on our own.
