Ok, I have a pretty good guess on what it means to get "smoked" by your DS, but could someone just give a little more detail?? Do I really want to know this stuff??

Getting "smoked" is physically paying for something. For example when PVT Joe Snuffy is is getting "smoked" he will be doing push-ups, low-crawls, supine bicycle, flutter kicks, sandbag PT, mountain climbers, etc. etc.

The first few times you get smoked are the worst, since everyone is terrified. All you are thinking is, "How long is the DS going to make this continue? This is horrible! Someone is going to die/pass out/throw up/cry/wet themselves! Make it stop, someone please make it stop!"
The next several times, you might be thinking, "Who was the idiot that got us smoked this time?!"
Then, maybe as the smokings progress, you'll think "Darn, this hurts. Maybe if I psyche myself up to like pain, I can deal with it."
At some point, you might even adopt that masochistic outlook and think, "Yeah DS, bring it on! I love getting smoked!" If this is the case, you may wish to keep such sentiments to yourself. Perhaps later in basic, you'll find yourself starting to get really good at a particular exercise like pushups, and that's when you'll be tortured with flutter kicks or something else you are less comfortable doing, and the fun begins anew. Any simple exercise can become sheer torture if done in huge numbers. I learned that by having to do something like 360 4-count side-straddle hops.

Wow Imma try to see if I can do 360 4 counts sidestrats today for my cardio. And then Proceed to beat my own face until my arms tremble in pain.
Smoking is something I think is good only for little small mistakes so they dont make them again. But for big deals corrective training is better and then after a habit forms then it's time for the pen.
