Just wondering if anyone knows what the Duty Uniform is for Recruiting. ACUs or Class Bs?

Its ACU's, I have never worn my B's since I have been out here for 7 months, and I only have worn my blues a handful of times.

Is there any truth to the recruiters going to a polo shirt/khaki approach as they feel the uniform is too intimidating?

hahahah, are you serious? If going to that, might as well have civilians do the Recruiting.

No I have not heard any such thing.

ACUs is the duty uniform for Recruiting School and assignment.

My recruiters would show up in Khakis and polo shirts on certain days. I'm sure it depends on the NCOIC of the station.

As said before the duty uniform is ACU. On fridays some recruiting stations go to a Station Polo shirt and slacks. At our station it was "if" you were on track to make mission. Meaning you either had the correct number in or ready to go to MEPS for a test or enlist.
At any time your 1SG can tell you to come in wearing you Class A uniform. This happened to me quite frequently as I was a horrible salesman for the Army. It took 6 months for me to start making mission, which is about average. But since I was already an E7, hard headed and saw my CMD as a bunch of salesmen who didn't care about their Soldiers, I rebelled a bit and ended back in a line unit within 18 months. Long answer for a small question. Smiler

Actually we do the polo and khaki uniform on Fridays in my station and it actually does work. Gives a more relaxed feel to the station and shows the applicants we aren't always in uniform. And They are a little more willing to talk to us. Sometimes we change into PT's and go to the gym. its all about different ways to sell your product (the army). And also big sarge they are plenty of civilian recruiters on the ground.

When I recruited from 99 to 2000 we wore whatever we felt would work. If we need to wear B's for something we did, if we needed to wear shorts and a army T shirt, thats what we did. Identify your market and go with what works.
