I know that according to the regulation and the recruiting website that WLC is required and not waivable. How flexible is this? Please only respond if you actually know the answer or have a valid source. Thanks.

If it's not waiverable, it's not waiverable?

FYI ... your last statement seems a tad bit snooty. Eeker

It's YOUR career! Take control of it before someone else does.

Let me get this straight, the regulation AND the website says "not waiverable" but you are asking how flexible it is, not IF its flexible...mmmm?

I have a question, the regulation says that the US Army name tag goes on the left side (as im wearing it), how flexible is this? I feel like doing something different with my uniform tomorrow. hehehehe

Sure, I have a response.

If you want to advance in the Army, you have to go to WLC, period. The valid source I have is every SSG I know. Why in the world are you trying to waive a NCOES?

"To conquer the Earth with an army of flying monkeys" is not an ideal goal to give to the career counselor.

Honestly, why would you not want to go? Are the standards to difficult to meet? Not being an a@@, just curious.

If you get on a recruiting tour, they can't afford to have you off mission for a month to take WLC (or however long it is now). This means you would never be eligible for promotion to SSG.

This is a ten level task

wannabearecruiter--why in the world would you wanna be a recruiter if you are trying to figure out if there is way out of the first step in the process of becoming a leader, an effective leader, an NCO? What do you plan on telling prospective recruits about why they should join? Are you going to tell them that if they join, they better hope that you are not their Squad Leader or PSG because you don't want the Army to teach you how to become an effective leader?

Man, you guys are ruthless. I was only asking because there is a post under a different subject that mentions someone who did not attend WLC and went to recruiting duty. I am not trying to get out of anything, just following up on a post.

It is waiverable. Once you get off the NRP (new recruiter program) you are eligible to go to WLC. The Recruiting Command cannot stop you from progressing as an NCO. And that includes attending NCOES. They will try to, but dont let them. You have to take your career in your own hands out here.
