okay in Sept. 2006 i recieved an Art. 15 (Field Grade) for underage drinking...I've been reading around and from what i understand, since i was a PV2 at the time it will "delete" itself 2 years from the date i got it...is this true?
...the reason i put this on the recruiter board is because i want to voluntter to be a recruiter when i get back from cuba and i'm wondering if the Art. 15 would prevent me from doing so...
...since recieving the Art. 15 i've squared myself away...i've done good in pt and won quite a few boards...i've held team leader positions and been ncoic of my shop (makeshift ncoic as i was a pfcic)...can someone please give me some insight...

For E4 and below Art.15s don't follow you once you change General Courts-Martial jurisdiction (change duty stations). They are also destroyed after two years so...
I am in the same exact situation I got a field grade a few years back. Before you get read your article 15 you go to that brief from legal. And they tell you it dont. How ever I still checked with a few of them legal guys in my unit and they said the same thing. its like nothing ever happend. He got rid of all papper work. So for E-4 and bellow it follows you know where once you leave that unit forget about it and never bring it up again
Wow, I'm not a subject matter expert on the legal aspect, but alot of this information being posted is not true and needs to be verified by a Legal Service Specialist.
As for the underage drinking stopping you from being a recruiter; it won't. (Unless there was driving involved)
As for the Article 15s "going away" or deleting themselves after 2 years, this is not true. Even if it were true, you'd still need to disclose this during your interview. JUst like if you're getting interview for a security clearance, if you fail to disclose something or lie about something, you're being dishonest and will not receive the clearance.
What exactly is wrong!!!!! Its in the video that they show you at legal. Its says that its kept in the unit local file(well something to that extent) for two years. After watching the video you sit down with a legal counsel they told me the same thing. Also the legal guy for my unit also told me that it is kept for 2 years or unit you pcs. Now between the three all saying the same thing. I dont see how I its possible that I misheard them. But hey its possible.
When I said that this information was not true, that was wrong. The information was not presented correctly or presented in a way which may lead someone to be unsure of the answer. I should have really requested regulatory guidance from legal (which was now provided).
