The Soldier has been put on an assignment to Iraq. His assignment was negotiated by his chain of command and did not involve him. His chain of command did tell HRC that the Soldier said he wanted the assignment. The Soldier never even knew about the assignment until he was on it. I talked with the Soldiers Branch Manager and they confirmed his chain of command volunteered him for the assignment not Branch.
Ok now the Soldiers wife had been diagnosed with stage 2 and 3 breast cancer and had both breast removed followed up with radiation a month after she recovered from surgery. The next month he was put on assignment to Iraq by the chain of command. I had him put in a 4187 for deletion of orders and it was denied by the company commander and BN commander. Their reason for diapproval was because he is pending the assignment they put him on. It has been over 60 days now and there has been no answer back from HRC. He did tell me that he receved a email from the the Branch SGM telling him that he is to report to Fort Riley on the 26 of October. To make things worse the cancer has come back at a stage 3 and she underwent another surgery on he 10th of October to remove all remaining tissue in her breasts. I read the memo from her doctor and she is to start Chemo therapy for up to 12 months ASAP. He has two memo's from two different doctors saying that he should not be leaving his wife and 4yr old daughter during all of this.
I'm not finished yet the soldier's older brother requires a kidney transplant as well. He had been doing some test to check for compatibility and he is the only healthy match for his brother.
I'm trying to help this Soldier but the chain of command really has something against him.
