Was DA Selected, read up on the USAREC webpage that I STILL needed to complete a packet minus a few forms and fax or email to USAREC, including a signoff by my CO and BN CDRs. I have it ready to go..but I cannot find the location to send it to, is this packet still necessary or did they remove this old information from their website?

I, too, did my homework as a DA-select and did the entire packet. I brought it with me to school (which was July 2007) and never took it out the entire time. I think it's just old info.

Congratulations, Welcome to USAREC. Just turn it in to your Reassignments section (post level) and they will scan and email it to the USAREC liason at HRC...thats what I did with mine, but some people here said they didnt do one, but guess what? The day I arrived my Recruiter background investigation was already completed and I got my assignment on time.

My RBI was done and I, too, got my assignment on time... no one ever saw my packet except those few who had to sign the blocks. I dunno, seems like one of those variable things...

Hey TransAm95NCO, you seem to have alot of answers in reference to recruiting and I appreciate what I have been seeing in your responses. I have a question? When you get DA SELECTED for recruiting (as is the case with me) my ASK says that I am on assignment to Fort Knox(Which I know is the HQ). Is it considered a PCS move at this point?

Don't know if you can answer this one or anyone else as a matter of fact. If you go to school and get sent back to your Unit for failing the course or the background check. Will you be put on orders to PCS or will those orders get rescinded? Thanks for any and all answers and comments.

88_MIKE_MIKE,

The reason your ASK says Ft. Knox is because thats the USAREC HQ. Once you are going through school at Jackson you will get an actual assignment location down to the BN level, Once you know your BN then you call the SGM of that BN and he will give your exact station you will be working out of.

You have to understand you only have TDY orders to Recruiter school right now. If you pass everything(which you will) and your Recruiter Background Check comes back Type 1 then you take your orders from school to your AG and they will cut your PCS orders.

Well for one you will not fail this course. Its 99.9% fail proof. But if for some reason by some grace of god you do fail or dont get a Type 1 clearance(good to go) and are given a Type 2(not good to go) then you will just go back to your unit and pick up where you left off.
You can apeal a Type 2 clearance but that is all done from the unit you came from.

You will be going TDY and Return at this point unless you are stationed overseas.

If you get kicked out (we had a few already) you will go back to your unit, and then off assignment to Recruiting, but you might get put on orders to another place anytime after that...when I volunteered for this a couple of years ago I was sent back and I was on assignment to Korea within weeks...

I think 2HYSPD4U is getting confused, the way the background person and the instructors explained was "Check your ASK under the background type, if it says pending or no data available, then your background is pending" "if it says cleared then you are good to go" "if it comes back as Type I or Type II you have something in your background that is not good, Type I is serious and you will have to go back to your unit to do the appeal (if you wish to do one). Type II is less serious and you can continue with the course but you will not get your RFO (Request For Orders) until this is cleared up" Which means you dont get your actual PCS orders after you graduate until you get that Type II cleared.

When do you come to school? I am in week 3, just took the PT test today.

You had people get kicked out...haha...I wish I would have known a way to get kicked out but once I was there they made it CLEAR no one was leaving!

Yeah , oh and so you know TransAm when you get to your phone/personal interviews weeks 5,6, and 7. Everything they teach you during those weeks goes out the window when you get to your station...You dont follow any of that crap.
I wished they would have spent alot more time on packet building and ARISS, that would have been more helpful.
