First off, how long have you been in? TIS, TIG? If you are still in the period where you are depending on a waiver before meeting the mandatory promotion then there may be no need to be upset.
Also, promotions for lower enlisted will probably not be back-dated, especially if the major discrepancy involves a flag. The whole "shitbag" outlook may or may not happen. Don't think that all the work you are doing is for nothing. You are helping yourself personally and professionally. Just keep doing what you're doing and someone will take notice.

My old squad leader who left for warrant school yesterday talked to IG and they said i should talk to them. If i do would there be a possibility i could get my promotion and have it dated back to 1 oct like the rest of the guys, and if i did this would i look like a shit bag? I am doing alot of work and it seems like for nothing! what should i do?
IF, and thats a big IF you win this battle, meaning you can prove that he was supposed to be flagged right along with you...all its going to happen is, he will get flagged like he was supposed to, maybe reduced to PFC b/c it was an erroneous promotion...and you? You will still be flagged, got a guy now mad at you and on the bad side of the Chain of Command...you are thinking of doing this for the wrong reasons, now if you want to do it b/c you know there was something wrong done by all means but you want to do it so you can get promoted when you dont even deserve it.
Lead by Example!!!
