Anyone who has experience going from IRR to Active Duty, your expertise is much appreciated... My husband and I are in the process of going active duty from IRR after serving 8 years in Army National Guard. The necessary packet was turned in late September through the Call of Duty program and we are aware that the minimum amount of time for review is 30 days. I am curious to know if something happens to be missing or if a problem happens to arise with his paperwork, will he be notified immediately? Also, in the instance that everything is correct and he is accepted, there is training that he will need, would he go straight to training before reporting to his new base or would he report to the base and go to training at some later date? Considering he is an O3 Apache pilot, we know he hasn't been to the captain's career course and he will also need a transition course for the apache as well as some other training. We have figured the amount of training, if the Army decides to get it all done in one time period, would take around 10 months. Would they PCS us to Ft. Rucker for training and then to our base or wait till the training is over and then PCS us to our base? I am trying to be as prepared and aware as possible because we just sold our house and we have our first baby due in less than three months Thanks for your time and knowledge
