I am currently in the Army. I had a break in service and came back into the army on 12 June 06. When I came back in my DOR was not adjusted. It is in the process of being adjusted right now. I have been looking back at the promotion points for my MOS (35M/previously 97E) and once my DOR is adjusted it will show that I was elegible for promotion to E5 on 1 Jan. 07. I know that was a long time ago. It gets better. If I would have been promoted to E5 on 1 Jan 07 then I would also be eligible for promotion to E6 on 1 Apr. 08. Both of these promotions would have been throught the Automatic Integration. I heard a rumor that if you are deployed you do not to have already completed WLC to get promoted to E6. I say this because I was deployed on 1 Apr. 08 and I do not have WLC. I am extremely confused and want to know if any of this makes any sense.

Just b/c you were eligible for promotion does not mean you would have gotten promoted to SGT on said date. If you are deployed you can attend the board for SSG without attending WLC first, but you have to go once you get back.

Right, soldiers that go to the board have priority for promotion. But I have the cutoff scores for Jan, Mar, and Apr 07 and all of them show that soldiers were selected from the Automatic Integration List for promotion. Thanks for the clarification on whether or not you can make SSG while depolyed without WLC. That is what I was thinking but was not sure.

Does anyone else have a clue if they will promote me and back date the rank to early 2007? I have been reading the regs and found out that the Automatic Integration is by Senority...TIG and then TIS. You also can't be denied promotion by your commander. How can I find out if I had more TIG or TIS than the other soldiers promoted?

If you are a bad soldier and your command doesn't think that you should be promoted they will annotate that on the AAA-117. I have spoken to my 1SG and I was approved for promotion back in Jan 2007. It is on my ERB that I was put on the list. However, the DOR on my ERB did not meet the requirements....It should have and now does.

I know that I was eligible!!

I am asking if the army will go back that far to promote me? Does anyone know?

I know people that have been denied by the Command.
