I just saw the clip on CNN with the Marines climbing out of a tank that was hit with an RPG. Is it just me, or is it wrong that they're showing this clip. They say that it just recently happened, so they probably haven't bothered to contact family members of the injured troops or anything. I think reporting like this is bad for morale both at home and abroad. There's nothing wrong with simple reporting of the incident, but the clip just didn't sit right with me.

I agree its wrong to show that particular situation.. What bothers me more is the fact that the media fails to display all the GOOD things the military and civilian contractors in Iraq has done.. For example, rebuilding the infrastructure of the country, such as schools, hospitals, and governmental faucilites, roads?.?. What about those stories?

"liberal media" Back when we first entered Iraq CNN also showed a Marine shooting a wounded Iraqi. There's just some stuff that they shouldn't show on tv but if they do they should atleast broadcast the whole picture like CavTrooper is talking about.

I agree with you guys [i:71e77ae92c]completely[/i:71e77ae92c]!!

It seems the media exists for the sole purpose of biting the country that feeds them in the goddamn hand (or worse). I am so tired of hearing talking heads describe how bad the situation gets on a daily basis and fail to mention how hard people are working to do some good, and I know a lot of our guys over there do care about making a difference.

Eric's a JAG and he writes about interacting with Iraqi's all the time. Hell, before I didn't even [i:71e77ae92c]know[/i:71e77ae92c] we were compensating Iraqi's for damage done by US forces. I thought this was a war. anyways...

I agree...making the situation much worst. I know it keeps the americans and the rest of the world inform but no need for soldiers looking helpless.

They should kick CNN out of Irag or at any conflicts or limit them from certain incedents.

Yeah that is just rediculous. They shouldn't show any of that stuff on the news. Exspecially our soldiers getting hurt and its still not right for them to show the enemy taking casualties either. The media is just a big crock. They have no business showing that type of stuff over the TV. It discusts me. I seen enough while I was over there, I don't want to see that stuff on the news either, I thought I got away from all that when I left Iraq.

This is what you get by imbedding reporters in combat units (we all remember Geraldo's little map incident). The Media's whole purpose in being is to inform people that is an unargueable fact. For the sake of opsec alone I would think that imedding reporters would be a bad idea. When you add a live feed into a combat situation that even compounds the situation as the entire world can get realtime frontline intel. Then people who have no stomache for violence and no fortitude/backbone start screaming for us to leave the job undone whether or not Iraq is left in chaos. The same thing is happening for the Japanese with their hostage situation (you have to give their Prime Minister respect for not pulling out of Iraq with all the pressure he's getting). The Main problem is this imbedding reports gives the ignorant masses more inf than they need or can handle. Have the reporters deal with PA and get them out of combat units and your problem will be solved.

Trying to earn some kind of reporting award????? I mean if they must report it needs to be on the rebuilding of Iraq not the Combat situations.REPORTERS leave the COMBAT to us soldiers take your cameras else where your not welcome!!!!
