Golf is a sport? What about field hockey, or water polo? I believe the military should participate in events that show off our combined talents, weight/power lifting, cross country running, skeet shooting or sharp shooting events.. Basically Strength, power, quickness and intelligence... We should leave events like golf to the really gifted players like Tiger..

I have about the same handicap and I'm sure I'd make the team if I had the time to play. As long as you score around even par give or take a couple, you'd do well. I used to play at Ft Sill a couple years back and shooting par there was pretty easy, so I hope you aren't basing the handicap too much off that course by the officers club. Never hurts to go the the try outs. Once you make the team you are in the drivers spot. Good Lucck!
