I don't think there's a set date yet, or if it's even for sure. But I heard some of the events were:

1 minute of push-ups
1 minute of sit-ups
1.5 mile run
pull-ups

I think I read somewhere, that at West Point, the new APFT was already in effect. It consisted of something like 10 events, 5 of which you could choose from. Like the 100m dash, the 1 min Obique stand, crunches, 1.5 mile run, pull ups, pushups, and some others which arent coming to mind right now. All in all, having the choice of which events to do would definitly work better in conjunction with the new MOS based PT schedule.

The proposed APFT changes were five events:
1min push-ups
the heel hook (hang from a bar and raise your feet up to hook on another bar; to test the abs)
sit and reach for flexibility
1.5mile run
and some sort of sprint

I've noticed that everyone has different versions of the story, so until I actually see for myself an official publication regarding this... I'll take it with a grain of salt.

The biggest hold up on the new APFT is that 90% of the events can not be done by someone with a bad back. Like me I have a cracked vertibrae and can not do some of the events. This does not keep me from being a good soldier, but I would not be able to take the APFT so I could not be in teh Army. From what I understand they are still working on alternate events. Just what I heard thought.

my info came from an issue of the Army Times from a while back. Another reason the Army hasn't implemented the test yet is because it requires too much equipment. The current test only requires a stop watch, pen/pencil, PT card and clipboard. The new one would require a lot more.
