25F to 25N MOS transition

So we had our Brigade S6 come brief us that 25F's are going to have there MOS's changed to 25Ns. However, from my understanding, a majority of the 25F's belong to the Air Defense Artillery in Patriot units. The Patriot units require 25F's per MTOE. Has anyone heard or seen any documentation/milper messages on the MOS change since the last milper message release in 2008?

Oh ok got it. Thank you for the link. Like you said no specifics and the Branch really hasnt said anything about it other than what is put out on rumorville. All we get is that we should "reclass" and find other career paths. Im tired of people putting out information with no paperwork backing it up. That is how the Army works in the first place. For now, I am just telling my Soldiers to ignore the information and worry about college, correspondance, and becoming better soldiers.
There has been an MOS Change action approved by DA and the MOS 25F will be no more at the end of FY14 (effective 01OCT 2013). Any Soldier with MOS 25F will become a 25NY2 and must complete one of several training tracks to remove the Y2 identifier. There will be a transition course that is currently in development, also 25F NCO's who attend ALC will attend 25N ALC and have the Y2 identifier removed.

There are future plans to combine 9 Signal MOS's to 3 MOS's( Network, Transmission, User Support) but that is atleast a couple years off.

I've heard the same, with WIN-T Inc changes coming, as it stands I'm a 25F30 getting looked at this year.
@ Andrew1479,
Im currently attending ALC and we got a briefing from Signal Towers that were actually converting to 25N this October. Your upcoming FY13 unit MTOE should reflect this change. However, the MOS Posture sheet on the Signal Branch page says were not converting until next october. I guess it will be just a guessing game. My understanding is its because is the on going need for MSE (ADA 25F's). Make sure you use a CAC. Here is the link:

I attended a 400 hour JNN course this past winter/spring as a 25U1O. We were told for those that were already 25F that this course would make them eligible for 25N. For those of us who weren't, we would need to take 25F phase one in addition. Later we were told that if we were already 25 CMF MOSQ we would just need the JNN course. Does anyone know of guidance that governs this transition?
Anybody have any newer docs on this? I'm looking at a memorandum stating 2 different things. That those who go thru 25f alc get the 25N curriculum. States first that they will be awarded 25n after completion of then course. It also says later in the paragraph... The reclassing won't actually start until 1 June.

This memorandum is dated 11 Oct 2011.
Just curious if I'll be a 25N as soon as the course is over and reflected on erb, or 1 June?
I'm a military liaison at Brant Hall on Fort Gordon. Anyone coming in as a 25F now receives 25N training.

I am also a current student in the 25N transition course. It's the second ever course, so there are still bugs being worked out. It's 10 weeks long, and at the end you get a 1059. They're still smoothing out the procedures by which your MOS converts. A couple of my buddies went through the first class and their ERBs still list them as 25F, though our supervisor sent their certificates up to Signal Towers.
All 25F need to stress to Leadership/Chain of Command/Schools NCO that they must attend one of the few methods to transition to 25N. In my opinion with the Army downsizing a Soldier that is untrained in his MOS (which a 25F changed to 25NY2 in untrained) is an easy target to take down to meet force reduction numbers.

The 10 week transition course is not recieving the needed minimums to be conducted and the last iteration of the course starts in September. Procrastination may lead to a bad situation for former 25F who have bot been trained as 25N.
SIGYEO,
It is not a matter of "stressing" to the Chain of Command/Leadership/Schools NCO, etc. The problem is no information has been put out correctly and most units like mine (overseas) are not MTOE'd 25N's until October and will not pay TDY and return to reclass 25F's. What needs to happen is Signal Branch needs to request that HRC push out a MILPER message stating a deadline that all 25F's MUST do one of the methods for transition to 25N. We can't depend on a memorandum that came from some random person asking us to reclass. It needs to be official and from "big army". Give the 25F's some legitimate power to show their commands that they MUST support this transition and not make it a choice.
I just got an email;

I do not believe it's a problem to just cut and paste if not delete.

--------------------------------

Signal Soldiers,

You are being sent this e-mail in reference to the recent deletion of MOS
25F. When the 25F MOS was deleted all former 25F were converted to 25N and
given the ASI Y2 (Training Required). The ASI Y2 denotes a Soldier who is
not fully MOS qualified. Although this identifier does not stop a Soldier
from reenlistment, eventually it will. It is the Soldier?s responsibility
to check their ERB (Enlisted Records Brief) to see if they have the Y2 ASI.

If a Soldier has the Y2ASI there are several things they need to check.

1. If the Soldier attended 25F (train as 25N) AIT (260-25F10 (Network
Switching Sys Opr-Maint)) between 1 October 2012 and 30 September
2013 they are a fully qualified 25N. The Soldier needs to take their
1059 to their BDE S1. The BDE S1 will delete the Y2 ASI.

2. If the Soldier attended 25F ALC (Advanced Leaders Course)
260-25F30-45 (Network Switching Sys Opr-Maint ALC) between 1 October
2012 and 30 Sep 2013 they are a fully qualified 25N. The Soldier
needs to take their 1059 to their BDE S1. The BDE S1 will delete the
Y2 ASI.

3. Soldiers who have successfully completed a WIN-T NET (New Equipment
Training) need to e-mail SFC Peterson in OCOS (Office Chief of
Signal) their certificate and he will evaluate whether the Y2
identifier is removed. Email:

If the Soldier does not fall into one of the previous categories they need
to attend the 10 week 25F/ N Transition Course (260-25NY2 (T) (CT) (Nodal
Network Systems Operator-Maintainer) at FT. Gordon.

Funding is available for Soldiers attending the 25F/ N transition course.
TDY and return Soldiers contact your Training/ Schools NCO to get enrolled
in the course. Soldiers TDY enroute please contact your Professional
Development NCO at the U.S. Army Human Resources Command for a scheduled
course date.
