I was wondering what the regulation for full battle rattle in the chow hall is. I'm currently deployed "OEF" while escorting local nationals to the chow hall I was informed that according to the regs I could not wear my helment into the chow hall. I thought that if you were on duty and armed you are allowed to were a helment into the DFAC.

Aren't most Soldiers at OEF Armed when they go into the DFAC?

I've never heard of wearing the Kevlar while in the DFAC. Sometimes they have spots you can put the kevlar down.

I know that only food handlers and "armed" Soldiers can keep their headgear on while in the DFAC, but that was always stateside with SOFT headgear.

You might look through the last Iraq uniform reg I saw:

(((Also, you might point out to whoever is the stickler that you going through the motions of removing and putting the kevlar back on occupies your hands, what if one of the guys you escort decides right then to go Crazy?)))

If they decide to go crazy, drop the kevlar and shoot them....easy enough
