Hand receipts and shortage annexes (DA Form 2062)

Hey y'all. I'm trying to find out some info on how hand receipts and shortage annexes should be filled out properly. I am going through a COC in a month or so and I'm wonder what right looks like.

Here are the hand receipts. Top is how I was taught and the bottom is how I was told to do so by my XO. All the blank spots we are were told to just put a slash in the boxes. Now... I am NOT a 92 seies.. lol

And the shortage annexes. Same thing are the HR's at the top, just the reverse amounts.

With myself, I also use to have the LIN number with a photo of the actual item, so the Commander could view it during the layout.
