I have looked through all the messages but have found it hard to get a straight forward answer, I have heard yes and no from all sorts of different people and want to see what i can get from here. There are a few of us in my unit wanting to know.

I have completed ONE tour in Iraq, from AUG 08 to JUL 09... and have been told by different people I should be wearing a campaign star on my ICM, but other people say not... so which is it?

You have wear a star with ICM. The star denotes period of service, NOT number of deployments. In the regulation/message, it spells out the dates. If you fall withing one date period only, you wear one star, if you fall within two time period, you wear two, etc.
A Iraqi campaign medal is not awarded without a campaign star. When we got back in September this was a huge debate and out CG was called to verify. You can also backdate a Campaign Star from previous deployments based on a timeline
