I am looking for the AR for guidance on when one can wear the nice square patch that reads MP. Specifically when one is in an MP spot but not performing MP duties. If anyone has experience in this or can point me in the right direction it will be appreciated. All I can think of is AR 670-1 (I'm not an MP just trying to buff up my knowledge since we have some in my unit.)

Thanks All

Thanks WarBucks I was thinking the same but I am on a TDY and working in a nice secure office and saw a SSG walking around with the Patch on his shoulder. I guess I could have asked him but not really knowing anyone here didn't want to overtep my boundries. I will keep looking.

Is there a MP guide that covers things like this?
There's an ALARACT out, 149/2008, it states that personnel performing MP duties are authorized to wear the patch, at the discretion of Provost Marshals and MP Commanders. So, I guess that means that if a commander has a non-MP performing MP duties, they can wear it. My last unit had everyone who was doing PTT as well as the PSD for our commander wearing it, and we had a Chem NCO as our PSD squad leader.
