why are you volunteering for a duty that you can be da selected for? there will be some months that you would rather be in a combat zone than beating that pavement out there. at least in combat it's all about the team and not back stabbing like you will find on recruiting duty. finally, at some point you will be so desperate to enlist someone that you will cheat/bend the rules to get that contract. every recruiter at some point has done that. if you are looking for career advancement volunteer for drill sgt duty. once you get your instructing down pat you get rewarded with an accomplishment every graduation day. there are no "under-the-gun" months on the trail. be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.
yep never will understand why ppl volunteer for recruiting. just got done with my 3 year detail and the only ones that thanked me were the ones i helped them out of a shitty situation and convinced them the army was a better life. its an awesome feeling to see/hear from a soldier a year or two down the road and thank you for what you done for them

A ton of people volunteer because you really need that additional duty to be competitive for SFC & MSG and not all MOS's have much of a chance to get Drill.

I suppose if youre planning on getting out before your 20 and you dont really care about promotions then it doesnt matter.

Or theres always AIT Instructor.

Wake up at 3am to do PRT and mold new Soldiers = AIT Instructor

Wake up at 7am to goto the gym on your own and mold new Soldiers = Recruiter

I'd pick Recruiter
