Yongsan / Kiribati

I saw this come up in my requsitions and researched were Kiribati was. It is a set of islands between Hawaii and Austrailia. It seems wierd that Kiribati would be lumped in the assignment with Korea so, I was wondering if any one knew where the duty station of this assignment would be.

Any help would be greatly appreciated on this.

Breezyy89 - I am a 68A, biomedical equipment specialist.

Agent P - Thank you for the link. I used control-F on the PDF attachment and searched for Kiribati and Yongsan, with no luck. Is there some other way to use that information to find the location of this specific duty station? 18th Medical Command stretches all across the Pacific region and does not give a good indication as to where I would be moving my family to.
I actually have that as a requisition also. I am a 68X E-5. Never had a requisition in my 6 years of military service until that came up. Now I am very curious as to where it would be. Might have to start doing some research on it cause I just put it as it is Korea.
Bumping this thread back up to the top, I just recieved my assignment notification and they say Yongsan, Korea with Duty in Kiribati. I am a 68A (Biomedical Equipment Repair) I am trying to find out where I am going to call "Home" while I serve this tour. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

It is obvious that others have also gotten this assignment, but it's a tad bit dissapointing that noone has responded with any good info.
I have a TON of other questions I would like to ask someone who has any information about this, but I figured I would start with just the where am I going.

Thank you in advance!
So, it turned out, before I left I had to have my orders corrected to reflect Yongsan, South Korea. Apparently it is an error in the system (Or it was in 2012 and appears to possibly still be).

I was stationed in Seoul at Yongsan Garrison (Area 2) and I brought my family with me and stayed for 2 years. It was a lot of fun, and we had a ton of fun. However there have been a lot of changes since I've been there, they did away with the off post military housing, and they went to just renting in the local area.

I cannot stress enough, please make sure you have your orders adjusted, amended, changed, whatever (I can't remember what the hell it's called) to reflect the proper assignment ASAP. I had to be an ass to a few people to get them to pull their head out of theirs and do some digging. Generally they just shrugged their shoulders and looked at me like the clueless knuckleheads they were without actually asking any questions.
Yep, it's still a glitch in the system. I called HRC and they said it's a QC problem with their computers. I figured they would have fixed it by now, guess not. I've been on assignment to Korea for almost 6 months now. That's where I was expecting to go and I'm ready to get it started. Although, I was slightly hopeful I would be PCSing to some tropical island.
